Every business is unique with unique, differentiated services, unique clientele demographics and budgets. When it comes to magazine subscriptions for your reception room, there is no "single" right solution that is right for everyone.
There are some generalizations that we have learned over the years that we can suggest as a guide to your decision as to what subscriptions to order. These recommendations are based on our experience serving businesses in a variety of industries, and we encourage you to use these as a starting point, not as a limit.
Your business may cater to clients mostly on the lower-scale or upper-scale of the market. You should of course choose the publication package appropriately. But you should ensure that the selection of magazines you have in your reception room is broad enough to please clients from both ends of the spectrum.
What does it mean in practical terms? If your clientele is 99% female, you should have a few publications that would be of interest to the stray male who may wonder into the reception room accompanying or waiting for your client. It may also make sense to always have a few publications that are of interest to children and male/female teens. One of the biggest miscalculations is to order only publications related to "my business." Your clients have a range of interests—some would rather read a business publication, others might be happier spending their time looking at an adventure & travel magazine.
We have tried to make it easy for you to choose the right package of magazines for your reception room. We have a "General" package that is right for almost every reception room. We also created a number of specialized "Mini-Packages" that are meant to supplement the "General" package. Ordering a "General" package with one or more "Mini-Packages" allow you to customize the selection of magazines for your unique clientele demographics. Smaller reception rooms may find this package sufficient. Other businesses, can purchase the "general" package and one or more specialized "Mini-Package Add-Ons". |
