texts and issues in a balanced and intelligent way. Each year, the winning
poem, runners-up, and honorable mentions of the Editors' Prize contest are
included in the summer/fall issue. Recent judges of the contest have been Joe
Wenderoth, Kwame Dawes, Gabriel Gudding, and Michelle Boisseau. The Spoon River
Review publishes high-quality poems in any style that are as
intellectually and emotionally ambitious as they are attentive to
